Videowettbewerb der EGU 2015 – die Finalisten
Ebenso wie im letzten Jahr gibt es auch 2015 wieder einen Communicate your Science Video – Wettbewerb. Hierbei soll jungen Geowissenschaftlern die Möglichkeit gegeben werden, ihre Arbeit in einem kurzen, allgemeinverständlichen Video vorzustellen. Das finde ich eine ziemlich gute Idee. Denn mittlerweile spielt sich eine Menge Wissenschaftskommunikation im Netz in bewegten Bildern ab. Und es kann anderen jungen Menschen nicht nur Wissen vermitteln, sondern auch das Arbeitsfeld und die Arbeitswelt eines Wissenschaftlers zeigen. Außerdem ist es eine gute Gelegenheit, die… weiter

Wachstum und Widerstand – Lernen mit Blick auf die Abwehrmechanismen (Teil I)
Michaela Brohm Eins beschäftigt mich: Nehmen wir an, Menschen wollten wachsen. Wie Bäume. Und weiter angenommen, dieser Selbstentfaltungs-Wille sei gattungsspezifisch[1] – wir wären so eine Art „homo crescens“; auf der Suche nach Wachstum und Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten; Trüffelschweinen gleich. Dann macht Lernen Sinn. Lernen ist dann der Sinn selbst – der Stoff, aus dem Erkenntnis ist. Daher sind die Schüler/innen in ihre Arbeiten vertieft, suchen nach Lösungen, Erklärungen, helfen, lesen, rechnen, musizieren, kommen freudenreich in die Stunde und gehen zu spät in die Pause; sie gehen darin auf, weil sie sinnvoll finden, was sie tun: Was für eine Utopie. Oft ist es eher so: Der eine ist dauernd dagegen, die andere wirft was vor, der in der dritten Reihe droht mit irgendwas und Hans-Franz blödelt ständig rum, kommt zu spät oder gar nicht. Dann gibt’s da noch die Schweigenden, Unruhigen, Bagatellisierenden …. Das ist anstrengend. Und so sind wir beim Warum.
