Der Tag der Menschen mit Behinderung
Eine Behinderung kann angeboren sein, sie kann aber auch jederzeit jeden treffen – durch einen Unfall, eine Krankheit oder das Alter. Heute, am 3. Dezember, ist der internationale Tag der Menschen mit Behinderung. Die Vereinten Nationen haben diesen Gedenk- und Aktionstag ausgerufen, um das Bewusstsein der Menschen für die Probleme der Personen mit Beeinträchtigung zu schärfen. Eines dieser Probleme – und keineswegs das geringste – ist die mangelnde Zugänglichkeit zu medizinischer Versorgung. Gipsbein, Kinderwagen, Rolli oder Seh- wie Hörbehinderung sind mit dem System der Gesundheitsversorgung hier in Deutschland erstaunlicherweise immer noch in weiten Teilen unvereinbar.
Rosetta: Offene Forschung tut gar nicht weh?
Am 12. November beobachtete die Welt, wie ein kleiner Roboter zweimal über einen Kometen hüpfte, schließlich stehen blieb und allerhand Daten übertrug. Ich stand während der Landung selber zwischen Kamerateams im Kontrollzentrum in Darmstadt – und war überrascht, wie schnell neue Bilder und Erkenntnisse die Runde machten. Bei der Huygens-Landung auf Titan im Jahr 2005 hatte das noch ganz anders ausgesehen. Damals wurden die ersten Bilder eher unter der Hand gezeigt, kurz bevor im Kontrollzentrum die Lichter ausgingen.
