Schlaf schön – von wegen!
Etwas ist seltsam. Ein Leben lang war ich mit gutem Schlaf gesegnet. Außer in schlimmen Krisenzeiten habe ich stets geschlummert wie das sprichwörtliche Murmeltier. Geträumt habe ich natürlich auch. Oft und lebhaft. Manche Träume, wie die von der Mathearbeit in der elften Klasse, kamen immer wieder. Manche Träume machten Angst, andere riefen schöne Erinnerungen wach. So war das über Jahrzehnte. Eine kleine Weihnachtsgeschichte
Es gibt drei im Wesentlichen drei Arten von Weihnachtsgeschichten: die biblische und ihre Nacherzählungen, manchmal auch stark symbolisiert die sentimental-bekehrende, wie Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol [das ist die mit Ebenezer Scrooge und Tiny Tim] die satirische, in der die guten Taten sich am Ende gegen jene wenden, die sie ausführten. Unter den satirischen finden wir oft einfache Umkehrungen Dickens’inschen Weihnachtsliedes, manchmal konsequent bis zum Ende, wie im Falle Ben Elton und Ben Curtis’ Blackadder’s Christmas Carol. W7-X: Beginn des wissenschaftlichen Experimentierbetriebs im Livestream
Kurz vor Weihnachten letzten Jahres wurde an W7-X das erste Plasma erfolgreich gezündet. Es handelte sich bei den ersten Experimenten noch um Heliumplasmen, die wissenschaftlich eigentlich nicht allzu spannend sind. Helium wurde gewählt, weil es leicht zu zünden ist und auch einen gewissen Reinigungseffekt für die Wände aufweist. Morgen, am 3. Februar, startet der wissenschaftliche Experimentierbetrieb mit Wasserstoffplasmen.
