Help Measure Light Pollution
Dieser Titel ziert das Cover des Maihefts der amerikanischen Zeitschrift Sky&Telescope, und auch wenn der zugehörige Artikel nicht aus meiner Feder stammte, würde ich ihn möglicherweise hier erwähnen, denn Lichtverschmutzung war schon immer Thema dieses Blog. So wissen regelmäßige Leser, dass es durchaus Hoffnung gibt: Die Lichtverschmutzung muss möglicherweise nicht unumkehrbar zunehmen, “Dark-Sky-Parks” werden inzwischen auch in Deutschland eingerichtet. Die fortschreitende Umrüstung auf LED-Leuchten aber muss mit Sorge gesehen werden. Wie sich die Erhellung des Nachthimmels in den kommen den Jahren fortsetzen wird, ist unsicher – genau dehalb werden Messungen benötigt, viele Messungen. Und die können nicht nur von Satelliten kommen, sondern auch und vor allem vom Erdboden. Hier können Amateurastronomen eine entscheidende Rolle spielen – und darum dreht sich der Artikel.
