Ehrensache, dass ich mir den Liveauftritt von Buzz Aldrin nicht entgehen lasse, wenn er schon in der Nähe meines Wohnorts einen Vortrag hält. Ich ging da nicht in der Erwartung hin, viel Neues über das Apollo-Programm zu erfahren. Ich wollte einfach mal den Mann selbst auf mich wirken lassen.
#fallingwalls: Breaking Walls für Wissenschaft und Innovation
Vor 25 Jahren fiel die Berliner Mauer. Am 8. November stellen 100 junge Forscher und Innovatoren aus aller Welt auf dem Falling Walls Lab in Berlin ihre Ideen und Initiativen vor, um weitere entbehrliche Mauern dieser Welt zu beseitigen. Ich werde darüber bloggen und twittern. Doch vorab ein paar Worte, warum mich das so besonders freut.

Der Volksmund weiß: “Für Leute, die nur einen Hammer als Werkzeug haben, ist alles ein Nagel.” In der Wissenschaft kann man das hervorragend beobachten, denn hier werden Menschen über Jahre und Jahrzehnte in bestimmten Spezialdisziplinen eingewiesen, unter Druck wieder und wieder auf Stromlinienform geprüft und in ein immer einförmigeres Umfeld eingebunden (die akademische Form der Filterblase). Bald suchen wir die Welt nach Nägeln ab. Nehmen wir beispielsweise – ein Buch. Für die meisten nicht (über-)spezialisierten Menschen ist ein Buch selbstverständlich… weiter
