Yuris Night 2015 in Wien – eine Retrospektive
Am 12. April 1961 fand der erste Raumflug in der Geschichte der Menschheit statt. An diesem Tag umrundete der sowjetische Kosmonaut Yuri Gagarin innerhalb von 90 Minuten einmal die Erde. Seine Tat läutete das Zeitalter der bemannten Raumfahrt ein. Seit einer Reihe von Jahren finden zur Erinnerung an dieses Ereignis weltweit unter dem Motto „Yuris Night“ Gedenkveranstaltungen statt, deren Aktionsrahmen sich, je nach Intention und Laune der Veranstalter, zwischen Party, Filmfestival, Space-up, öffentlichen Vorträgen und klassischer Konferenz bewegen. Sehr häufig ist es eine Mischung mehrerer derzeit gängiger Formen der Wissenschaftskommunikation. Heuer fiel der 12. April auf einen Sonntag, veranstaltungstechnisch ein eher undankbarer Termin.
