“Yes, I can!” That sounds a bit like Obama, but it was Evelyne’s motto even before Obama was elected president. When she was born in Mathare 27 years ago, her father was a caretaker at church, and when his daughter had finished class 4 in school, she got a sponsorship for joining a boarding school. Great chance to get a good education, but hard life for the girl, who only saw her parents twice a year from now on.
