Ey, Seneszenz, Alter!
DNA-Schäden führen dazu dass unsere Zellen entweder sterben oder mutieren und dann Krebs auslösen. Habt ihr geglaubt. Hab ich auch das Studium über geglaubt. Etwas unbekannter ist, das unsere Zellen auch zu Schläferzellen (Oh hai, NSA!) werden können – die aber nie mehr aufwachen (außer man manipuliert daran rum). Diesen Vorgang nennt man zelluläre Seneszenz. Nach starken DNA-Schäden werden Zellen mitunter seneszent. Weshalb sie nicht sterben sondern seneszent werden weiß man noch nicht so genau.
