Mathematik und Informatik: Heidelberg Laureate Forum 2014
Morgen beginnt zum zweiten Mal das Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF), auf dem sich Fields-Medaillenträger (so etwas wie der “Nobelpreis für Mathematik”), Abel-Preisträger (auch sowas) und Turing-Preisträger (auch sowas, aber für Informatik) mit jungen Wissenschaftlern derselben Fachgebiete treffen. Blogartikel dazu finden sich wieder auf den SciLogs (siehe meine Beiträge vom letzten Jahr), und zumindest an einigen Tagen werde ich auch dieses Jahr wieder vom HLF berichten. Meine Beiträge erscheinen auf dem HLF-Blog, aber ich werde sie wieder auch von hier aus… weiter
Torvalds Family Blog
So, damit das neue Familien-Blog der Torvalds-Family nicht unentdeckt bleibt, setze ich auch ein Link http://torvalds-family.blogspot.com mit dem Hinweis, dass es sich wohl wirklich um das Blog von Linus Torwalds handeln soll.
Der erste Artikel stammt vom 2.10.2008. Bin gespannt, ob es dabei bleiben wird, dass es ein Familien-Blog sein soll.

Noch zwei Iridium Satelliten von Weltraumschrott getroffen?
Es gibt Anzeichen dafür, dass zwei Kommunikationssatelliten des Iridium-Systems im Laufe des letzten Jahres von Weltraumschrott getroffen worden sind. Allerdings führten diese Treffer, wenn es sich darum handelte, nicht zur Zerstörung der Satelliten, anders als bei der Kollision von Iridium 33 mit Kosmos 2251 vor fast sechs Jahren.
