Barrierefreie Versorgung im ambulanten Sektor
Patienten, die auf der Suche nach einem Arzt sind, möchten wissen, wo sie einen bestimmten Facharzt in ihrer Nähe finden, wie die Sprechzeiten sind und vielleicht auch wie es um die medizinische Reputation der Arztes bestellt ist. Für Menschen mit Behinderungen kommt dazu noch die Überlegung, welche Arztpraxis für sie überhaupt zugänglich ist. Liegt die Praxis im ersten Stock ohne Aufzug, können Rollstuhlfahrer sie nicht erreichen. Gibt es keine Orientierungshilfen können, sich sehbehinderte Patienten schwer zurechtfinden. Und das sind nur zwei von vielen möglichen Hindernissen.
Wie ist das mit der freien Arztwahl vereinbar und gibt es einen Rechtsanspruch auf barrierefreie medizinische Versorgung? Mit diesem Thema habe ich mich vor kurzem anlässlich des 13. Deutschen Medizinrechtstags auseinandergesetzt.

Stellen Sie sich vor, Sie sind LeiterIn eines Tierheims. Sie kennen Ihre Gäste sehr gut; deren Vorlieben und Abneigung. Die einen mögen sich, anderen stellt es die Haare und Federn nur so auf, wenn sie sich begegnen. Fakt ist: alle Käfige liegen aneinandergereiht. Wenn der eigene Vater, die eigene Mutter an einer Demenz erkrankt, fragen sich viele Angehörige: Können wir die Versorgung zu Hause schaffen?
