Wohin das Nichtfunktionieren von Praxissoftware führen kann, können Sie in einem kürzlich vorab auf Spiegel Online erschienen Artikel nachlesen. Demnach hatte ein bei Augenärzten gängiges Computerprogramm "vielen Patienten gleichsam automatisch eine Kodierziffer angehängt, die auf eine Ansteckung mit dem Aids-Virus HIV hinweist." Die zuständigen Krankenkassen erhielten daraufhin fälschlicherweise bis zu 160 Millionen Euro Zuschüsse aus dem Gesundheitsfonds. Aufgefallen sei die Panne, als sich einige Abrechnungsexperten der Krankenkassen über die auffällig gestiegene Zahl HIV-Neuinfizierter Ü-65jähriger wunderten…

Abnehm-Apps: Wie wirksam sind sie?
Können Apps dabei helfen, wirksam abzunehmen? Dieser Frage geht eine kontrollierte Studie nach, und kommt zu einem klaren Ergebnis: Im beobachteten Studienzeitraum von sechs Monaten unterscheiden sich weder Gewichtsverlust noch die Höhe der Blutdruckwerte in der Interventionsgruppe (n= 105) und der Kontrollgruppe (n=107). Verwendet wurde für die Studie die Health-App MyFitnessPal (Testbericht s. Healthon-Datenbank). Schon nach einem Monat lässt die Nutzung der App in der Studiengruppe stark nach, auch wenn die meisten der Nutzer angeben, sehr gut mit der App klarzukommen. Offensichtlich ist der Zeitaufwand für die Eingabe der tägliche Kalorienzufuhr für die meisten Nutzer einfach zu hoch.
Es müsste eine bessere Lösung gefunden werden, z. B. Mahlzeiten einfach fotographieren, die App analysiert mit akzeptabler Abweichung die Kalorienmenge und überträgt sie ins Ernährungstagebuch. Das könnte sicher viele Nutzer dazu bewegen, die App grundsätzlich anzuwenden, nicht als Abnehm-App, sondern um z. B. die Portionsgrößen anzupassen und so das Normalgewicht dauerhaft halten zu können. Auf diese App warten sicher schon sehr viele…
