David Nutt treibt Schabernack…
Die Briten sind schon etwas Besonderes. Als Asterix einmal seinem entfernten Verwandten Teefax dabei behilflich war, nahe Londinium Caesars Armee ein wenig zu verbeulen, staunte er nicht schlecht: Tradition, höfliche Gelassenheit, Humor und Minzsoße veranlassten Feind wie Freund, das Betreten englischen Rasens als dummen Fehler einzustufen.
Das Bewusstsein einer derartigen Fehlleistung dürfte David Nutt nicht beschleichen: er ist Brite. Mehr noch: Psychopharmakologe. Da kommen ureigene Insel-Eigenschaften zum Tragen, Humor beispielsweise. Und als britischer Psychopharmakologe hat man ganz sicher eine ordentliche Portion Humor. Diesem dürfte Nutts neuester Einfall zu verdanken sein: Analog-Alkohol.
Seine behaupteten Eigenschaften: Beduseln, aber nicht besoffen machen, kein Koma, kein Kater, kein Filmriss, keine Aggression – stadiontauglich, sozusagen. Und, ganz toll: mit einem einfachen Gegenmittel sofort unwirksam zu machen. Nach dem Pub mit dem Auto nach Hause – was will man mehr?
Nebenwirkungsfreie Pharmakologie wäre in der Tat eine herausragende, einmalige Leistung, zumindest, soweit es die Wirkung im lebenden menschlichen Organismus betrifft. Bislang war das nicht darstellbar und es gibt nicht Wenige, die so etwas grundsätzlich für unmöglich halten.
Die Zukunft wird‘s erweisen.
David Nutt jedenfalls meint es wohl einigermaßen ernst – er hat schon Vermarktungsstrategien in der Schublade.
Bislang hat sich dem Vernehmen nach aber noch kein britischer Pharma-Konzern die Rechte gesichert. Ein Nicht-britischer käme allerdings wohl kaum infrage, schon gar kein gallischer. Zitat Asterix: Die spinnen, die Briten….
