Fitness-Apps: Leitlinienkonform, wirksam oder gar gefährlich?
Ohne Trainingspläne, die sich am individuellen Fitnessgrad orientieren, können Verletzungen oder Überforderungen willige Trainingseinsteiger schnell frustrieren, so dass gute Vorsätze sowie erste zarte Bewegungsaktivitäten leicht scheitern. Können Fitness-Apps mit ihren neuen technischen Möglichkeiten diese Hürde besser überbrücken und motivierte Trainingsanfänger auf dem Weg in einen bewegten Alltag sicher und wirksam begleiten? Nach den Ergebnissen einer aktuellen Studie der Universtität Florida, die die smarten Unterstützungsansätze systematisch untersucht hat, ist das eher nicht der Fall.
Geprüft wurde in der Studie inwiefern die Empfehlungen bzw. Leitlinien der Amerikanischen Sportmediziner (American College of Sports Medicine = ACSM) im Unterstützungskonzept kostenloser iOS-Fitness-Apps berücksichtigt wurden. Das Ergebnis: Nur sehr wenige Fitness-Apps greifen die Erkenntnisse der Leitlinien und damit das evidenzbasierte Wissen auf und erklären ihre Nutzer z. B.
- die Notwendigkeit einer medizinischen Voruntersuchung vor Trainingsstart
- die Bedeutung eines individualisierten Trainingsplans, der sich am Fitnessgrad orientiert
- das richtige Aufwärmen, Atmen und die richtige Durchführung der Übungen, um Verletzungen vorzubeugen und nachhaltigen Trainingserfolg zu erzielen
- die praktischen Möglichkeiten, Bewegungseinheiten sinnvoll in den Alltag einzubinden und den Trainingsfortschritt zu verfolgen
Dreiviertel aller Apps (23 von 30) bieten keine Hilfe bei der Erstellung eines Trainingsplans. Insgesamt erfüllt nur eine von 30 Apps die Mindestanforderungen der Sportmediziner an eine umfassende Unterstützungshilfe, die das Bewegungsverhalten dauerhaft verändern, die Fitness verbessern und zur Steuerung der Gewichtskontrolle genutzt werden kann.
Fazit: Die große Herausforderung für die Entwickler von Fitness-Apps besteht nicht in erster Linie darin, die technischen Möglichkeiten voll auszuschöpfen, um dem Nutzer eine positive User Experience zu vermitteln. Vielmehr geht es um den nachhaltigen Nutzen für den Anwender, der nur dann langfristig von einer Fitness-App profitieren wird, wenn diese die fachlich-therapeutischen Konzepte berücksichtigt, deren Wirksamkeit in Studien belegt ist. Was im großen Angebot der vielen Fitness-Apps bisher eindeutig fehlt sind leilinienkonforme, evidenzbasierte Apps, die von interdisziplinären Teams zusammen mit Sporttherapeuten und Psychologen entwickelt werden.
Branchenkompass 2009 Gesundheitswesen: Vermehrt Investitionen in Telemedizin
Ein gestern auf aerztezeitung.de erschienener Artikel wertet die kürzlich erschienene Studie: "Branchenkompass 2009 Gesundheitswesen" aus. Demnach kam die Studie unter anderem zu folgenden Ergebnissen:
- drei von vier deutschen Krankenhäusern planen bis 2012 vermehrt Investitionen in Telemedizinarbeitsplätze
- "Telemedizin verbessert die Qualität der medizinischen Behandlung, spart Zeit und vor allem auch Kosten. So haben Untersuchungen ergeben, dass sich mittels Telemedizin die Kosten für Herzpatienten im Krankenhaus um mehr als 70 Prozent senken lassen."
- jede 3. Klinik plant für die kommenden 3 Jahre "Investitionen in Fern- und Selbstdiagnoseinstrumente für die Op-Nachsorge bei entlassenen Patienten oder für Chroniker."
- "36 Prozent der Krankenhäuser setzen zusätzlich auf Gesundheitscoachs. Ärzte oder qualifiziertes Pflegepersonal stehen dem Patienten dabei über Telefon und elektronische Medien bei Fragen rund um die Behandlung zur Seite." (presseportal.de)
Aus der Pressemitteilung der Agentur heißt es weiterhin: "Die digitale Kommunikation ermöglicht den behandelnden Ärzten, Befunde in Echtzeit über große räumliche Distanzen zu analysieren, Zweitmeinungen einzuholen oder Operationen zu besprechen. Das verbessert die Qualität der medizinischen Behandlung, spart Zeit und vor allem auch Kosten. So haben Untersuchungen ergeben, dass sich mit Hilfe der Telemedizin die Kosten für Herzpatienten im Krankenhaus um mehr als 70 Prozent senken lassen."
Ein weiteres Ergebnis der Studie bezieht sich auf den durch den Gesundheitsfonds verursachten stärker werdenden Wettbewerb unter den Krankenkassen:
"[…] Mit einer Vielzahl neuer Angebote wollen die Kassen das eigene Wachstum sowie das Überleben am Markt sichern. Denn die Zufriedenheit der Kunden entscheidet stärker denn je über ihr wirtschaftliches Wohl, nachdem mit dem Gesundheitsfonds der Preiswettbewerb nahezu ausgeschaltet wurde.[…]" (presseportal.de)
