I really enjoyed this year’s BCCN conference—just as much as I did the last year. For someone like me, who has done her masters within the BCCN framework in Germany and is now abroad for her PhD, the conference provides a fantastic opportunity to come back once a year and get up to date with the German community—both scientifically as well as personally. Mist… Ich bin raus. Die Ausgangsfrage war nachvollziehbar und auch
 den ersten Formeln konnte ich folgen. Doch dann kamen die
 Wissenslücken. Was war das nochmal für ein Abstandsmaß? Warum nochmal
 das Doppelintegral? Nach zehn Minuten bin ich abgehängt. Trotz des
 engagierten Vortragenden verstehe ich nur noch Bahnhof. Es dauert nich
t lange bis mir die Augen zu fallen. Erst zum Ende des Vortrags werde 
ich abrupt durch Applaus geweckt. Wo war ich nochmal? Ach ja, auf der Bernstein Konferenz in Göttingen.
